Super Weekend

We made our way to Fargo this past weekend, for the first time in over two months. It felt so good to be back and hanging out with all of our friends! Our weekend was pretty busy with our friends which made it go by way to fast.

Claire loved playing with Adam. She just screamed (literally) in laughter at everything he did.
I can't believe I was able to get both kids looking and smiling at the same time and it only took me 10 shots to do it.
Baby Claire is getting so big!

The Amazing Maggie

We had the pleasure of having the Amazing Maggie with us this weekend. Maggie is Adam's class's stuffed cow that gets to stay with a different child each weekend. So in honor of having Maggie with us this weekend, we tried to make it extra special. On Friday night, before our adventure could start, Adam though Maggie was a little dirty. So before I could catch him and tell him otherwise, Maggie went full into Adam's bath. Lucky for us Maggie is a good swimmer and is now all clean!
On Saturday we decided to check out our local branch of the Omaha Public Library. Adam and Maggie picked out quite a few good books that we have been enjoying all weekend.
Sunday after a pretty lazy morning, we decided to catch a hockey game and watch the Fargo Force take on the Omaha Lancers. Adam and Maggie danced and cheered and had a really good time. Unfortunately the Force lost (6-2) but we still had fun. Adam said Maggie's favorite part was the sled races during intermission.
So it was one last round of bed time stories tonight and then Maggie has to go back to school with Adam in the morning. We wrote down all of their adventures in the book that travels with Maggie. She has had some pretty amazing weekends. Adam is pretty excited to tell his class about everything he got to do with Maggie.

Dancing Machine

Things are continuing to go well down here in Omaha even with the uncharacteristic loss of Ryan's Green Bay Packers. Navigating the city is much easier now and we are excited at the thought of buying a house and putting down some roots in the future. Because we are not on the go every night, we are getting in some really good family time, which has been a really nice change of pace. Tonight we had a little dance party. Here of some shots of Adam showing off his moves...just like his daddy!

How about that Bison defense?

GO BISON! 'What a great weekend. We went to the Bison watch party here in Omaha to watch the Bison take on Sam Houston State for the FCS Championship and of course the thundering herd pulled off an amazing victory. We were with 50 or so NDSU alumni enjoying and cheering on our team. It was great!

Sporting our Bison gear!
Even Kristen (a big UND fan) even got in the spirit and wore some NDSU! This will probably never happen again.
We have little grandma and grandpa visiting for a few days. This is how little grandma likes to give Adam a bath. We like to tease. :)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

A belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. We originally thought we were going to have a quiet Christmas in Omaha, but the home sick bug bit me and we made the trip to Duluth to spend time with the family. We gave them quite a shock when instead of seeing us via web cam like expected, they saw us in person instead. It was a wonderful weekend.

For New Years, Rikki and Joel came to visit. We got to enjoy some new restaurants, shops, and even checked out the famous Omaha Zoo. The weather was so crazy, we did most of our outdoor adventures in just sweatshirts! The visit was much to short, and it was nice to have a them stay for the long weekend. Looking forward to the next time we get to see them.

The Omaha Zoo had an awesome rain forest exhibit. Adam is crossing the swinging bridge. It felt like you were really in the jungle.

Christmas program

We have actually been a little busy over the past couple of days. Last night was Adam's Christmas program for school and tonight was our apartment complex's Christmas party. They were both pretty fun. I am not going to lie, I am getting very full with all the cookies I have been eating. Of course more pictures!

Like father like son
Decorating Christmas cookies

Enjoying his handy work
Hanging with Santa...he has requested a nut cracker and Bible stories for being such a good boy.
Video from the Christmas program. It is not the best, it was pretty packed and I did not have the best angle, but you get the picture.

Go Pack Go!

We took advantage of our new location and made the trip to Kansas City on Sunday to watch the Green Bay Packers take on the Chiefs. We also got a chance to catch up with some good friends Mike and Rena from college during our quick visit. The weather was great, the food was good and if the Packers had won it would have been a pretty perfect day.

Adam getting geared up for the game.

Family photo at Arrowhead. Awesome stadium by the way.

This is what happens when the Chiefs score. We got to see this act a few times.
