Back up and running

We finally have our Internet working for the time being. Robin had another successful visit at the doctor. Things are continuing to progress. Tonight we are planning to finally pack our suitcase(s) for the hospital. Cathy came down last night with the remaining gifts from the shower and a bassinet for our new one. Our child will be the fourth generation from their family to use the bassinet (I've been informed that the lead paint was successfully chipped off and it's been repainted. I only hope that this is true). Cathy also made a tasty raspberry pie while she was here. We all went out to eat last night at Santa Lucia's. I have forgotten how good this restaurant is. Robin and I are finally starting to fight over the new Harry Potter book. I let her start it first, and read while she was busy with other stuff which worked well until we both started getting to the good parts. Last time we went to Duluth, Dan made me borrow 24. I finally got around to watching it and was instantly hooked; good recommendation by my brother-in-law. :) With Robin working days now, and me trying to balance WoW, 24, Harry Potter, and a very pregnant wife, I guess I keep pretty busy. I thought it would be nice this time to have a 9 month in review. So here are progressive pictures starting way back in the beginning. Enjoy!!!

Internet down...

Sorry for the delay in posting. We have been experiencing internet problems at home and I don't get much, if any, time now to update at work. Hopefully, they will get thing fixed for us today. Anyway, last week Wednesday I had my doctor appointment. Everything is continuing to go well. I have another appointment today so I will try to update later tonight of tomorrow (with pictures) if our internet gets fixed.

This last Sunday my wonderful girlfriends Erika and Meeks gave me a surprise mommy shower. I got some very wonderful gifts to pamper myself while on maternity leave. I have great friends, if they are reading, I just wanted to let them know that.

My mom is coming out to Fargo today to bring the rest of the baby shower gifts that we couldn't fit in the car. The hot weather will probably limit what we can do, but hanging out in the AC should be just fine.

Anyway, I will update more soon.

Childcare woes...

I don't know if I mentioned this in our last post, but I have finally been moved to a day shift at work. I am very happy about this because now Ryan and I will actually get to see each other on a regular basis, and we will get some actual family time after the baby is born. The slight downside of this is that fact that we now need to find daycare for our child. It wouldn't be that bad except for the fact that finding a daycare that takes infants (that isn't extremely expensive, 50 mile out of our way, or creepy) is almost impossible. I must have called over 30 places and I have found 3 that might work out for us, and I am on about 6 waiting lists. I have gone around to visit some of these places. Some are very nice and organized with a great staff and a couple I've seen have been dirty, unorganized and I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my baby with them. I am hoping that we will find something that works.

Besides the stress of finding a daycare everything else is going really well. The new Harry Potter movie comes out today. I am going to go with Erika and some other friends this weekend. On a side note, it is Erika's birthday tomorrow so a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her. Ryan is heading to the lake this weekend with Aaron so I get the weekend to shop and relax without him.

I had my latest doctor appointment today. I am now to the point where I am seeing him every week. Everything is right on track. Baby is head down, cervix is soft and I have even started to dialate a little. The doctor says I am right on track, as of now, to go right around my due date. That is good news, because the summer weather is starting to take it's tole on my poor swollen feet.

I hope everyone has a good weekend!!

Getting ready for baby.

This last weekend Ryan, Erika and I headed back to Duluth for my baby shower. The shower was put on by my Aunt Edie and Patti. It was a wonderful shower and I can't thank them enough for everything. It was really nice to see all our family and friends. Ryan and I are truly blessed and we received many beautiful gifts for our little guy. Ryan's parents came to Duluth for some camping, the shower and family time. Saturday night we had a good time with them around the campfire and catching up. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

I think Ryan and Erika forgot that the toys are for the baby not for them.
