We all had a very fun weekend at the lake. Adam did very well on the boat. He didn't fuss at all and he charmed everyone he met. But instead of telling you all about the weekend, it will be much more fun to show you.
Adam all ready to do some sailing
But before we can head out Grandpa needed to give Adam some kisses.

Grandpa giving Adam his first sailing lesson.

Adam hanging with Grandma. He didn't mind his life jacket as much as it seems in this picture.

Swimming with Daddy and Grandpa. The water was still to cold for mommy.

Cuddle time with mom

Our little monkey learned how to scale up the screen. Good thing mom was there to catch him.

He also got pretty good at climbing up the steps.

Hello Adam!

You will notice in the video that the fly swatter became Adam's favorite toy for the weekend.

On the go!

Well, our little man is only 25 day away from his first birthday, and is always on the move. He has go places to go, people to see. Because he wants to constantly be moving, it has made bed time these last couple nights a little more difficult. We has a wonderful routine before, a bath, a diaper change, a couple stories, turn on the lullabies and lie him down. After two songs he was usually out! Now, the minute you lie him down and leave the room he thinks you should still be there to see all the cute things he is doing. And he sure lets us know his disappointment. It has been hard to hear him cry (especially because we have been so fortunate to have a baby that doesn't cry very often), but it is getting better and I hope that soon we will be back on schedule like before. In the mean time, both Adam and I now shed a couple tears at bed time. :( On a much happier note, Erika and I went down to Brookings this weekend to celebrate the wedding of our good friend Kelsey now Lovseth. It was a beautiful wedding and she was a beautiful bride. Congratulations to Kelsey and Josh!

Stay in Mississippi

I never thought I'd say this, but Brett, enough is enough. I've been a fan of yours for almost half my life. There's been good times (Super Bowl XXXI) and there's been bad times as well (4-12, need I say more). We went through three (if not more) years of questioning whether or not you would retire, until you decided to walk away in March. You cried in front of the whole nation. You left after one of your best seasons and after setting numerous records. Everyone would have welcomed you back with open arms had you decided to stick around for one more year. Your team would have been one of the favorites from the NFC to head to the Super Bowl, but you gave that up when you decided to hang up your shoes. Now you come back and put your team in a no win situation. Don't force Ted Thompson into this decision. Don't put your Green Bay legacy at risk. As much as Brett Favre will always mean the Packers, you're not bigger than the team.

You made split second decisions on the field, although not always the best, and stuck with them. Stick with your decision you made in March. Let us remember the good times (and there were many) and not that you were a baby and tried to force the Packer's hand. Brett, thanks for the memories, but I'm ready to move on. You will be my favorite player of all time. Forever you will be spoken of as one of the all time greats, and someday I'll be able to tell my son stories of what it was like watching you, but that being said, I don't want to see you in any other colors than green and yellow (especially not purple) and I'm ready to see what Rodgers can bring to the table.

Weekend update.

Ok here is the big update! Sorry for the delay. As I had mentioned in my last post, we had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend. I was really nice to see many of Ryan's family that we have not seen in a long time. We headed off to Grand Rapids on Thursday afternoon. Adam was able to meet and play with his adorable cousin Ezri who is a month younger that him. Those two were our entertainment for the night, actually the whole weekend. They are very very cute when they play together, as you can see by the pictures below.

For the Fourth of July, we had a pretty easy going day. We spent time at the lake swimming, boating, and of course eating. We even got a very nice fireworks display that evening. We found out that Adam has quite the lover of water. He had a good time playing/eating the sand and floating in his new crab.

Fun at the lake!

Saturday we were treated to a wonderful Renaissance feast. There were some very unique and tasty dishes, games, stories, songs and even a juggling act. Everyone got dressed up and we had a really fun time.

Who knew my husband could juggle?

Thanks again to Ryan's aunt and uncle Cheri and Terry for hosting it was great to catch up and even meet the family. We look forward to doing this again some time.

Mommy Jungle Gym!

I have heard that some of the natives have been getting restless waiting for a new post (MOM). I apologize for this. Adam was very active when we got him from daycare today. Lots of energy! Here are some fun pictures of him using mom as a jungle gym.

You can almost see his two bottom teeth in this one.
