Weekend at the lake

We decided to take a break from packing this weekend to take a relaxing trip to lake for some fun and sailing. We had beautiful weather and some pretty good wind. Adam got to stay out with grandma and grandpa for the week while mom and dad got to go back to packing. Here are a ton of pictures from this weekend. There were so many good ones, I had trouble picking. It may be awhile before the next post as we are in the unpacking process. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

We tied in with 10 other sailboats and a very brave power boater. It was a good time with everyone together. We had a big bonfire that night complete with campfire songs.
There were many reasons to celebrate this past weekend. Not only was it Father's day but Warren and Sonya celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary and Sonya celebrated her birthday as well. Adam was such a good boy. Here is a little video of how he keeps himself entertained on the long car ride to the lake.

New summer cut!

Adam got a new summer hair cut tonight. It is much shorter that it was (and much more manageable). I think is makes him look really cute, and so much more like a little boy. Ryan just thinks its too short. You decide!

Redhawks and tantrums

We dealt with Adam's first real tantrum today. We were getting supper ready and I was entertaining Adam with bubbles. When supper was ready I took the bubbles away and a meltdown happened. Adam was lying on the floor crying/screaming and kicking his legs. I was a little in shock, because he has never done anything like that before. I didn't really intervene. He eventually stopped, and was just lying there pouting. He agreed to get in his high chair and after he got some food in his belly he was better. He was still a little touchy, and quick to get upset, but if my poor butt was as red as his I might be too. Hopefully a good night sleep will make him feel better.

Last night, however, Adam was on his best behavior. We took him to a Redhawks game with Rikki and Joel, and he had a great time. He was so excited about the mascot. He kept pointing him out and saying "birdie, birdie, birdie! Where birdie go?" When he finally go to meet Hawkeye, he was all of a sunden very shy, but he did give him a high five. He sat so well in the stands. He clapped, sang and charmed everyone around him. There was a small incident where he took part of his hot dog bun and threw it in the lady's hair in front of us. We sincerely apologized, and she seemed to be ok with it.

11 days and counting!

All clear!

We got the all clear from the doctor for Adam's ears. The tubes are doing their job. However, Adam is now battling a little sinus infection, so he is back on one more round of antibiotics. Hopefully after this we can enjoy a summer medicine free. The meds are upsetting his tummy a little, so he is not as happy a camper as he usually is. He is still a happy kid, he just is more quick to get crabby when things don't go his way. I am also feeling that way, but I am not battling a sinus infection. I was a little clumsy at my volleyball game last night and twisted my ankle up pretty good. Don't worry, no break. Just a lovely, black and blue, puffy sprain. Ryan has been very sweet about it, he has only hit it twice (by accident of course).

We got a chance to go to our daycare's summer picnic. A few of Adam's "friends" were there as well. It was fun to see all of the little kids interacting with each other, I wish I had my camera. Ryan was a big hit with the older kids. He was able to get them going pretty fast on the merry go round thing. He must of had 12 kids begging him to make it spin faster, before I had to intervene so we could go home and put Adam to bed. On the way home we went by the new house and if finally had a SOLD sign out in front. Two weeks and counts.

Here is my latest attempt at a new video. All Adam want to do is look at himself in the screen and play with the camera, so it is not the best. I will have to start sneaking up on him to get some better video.

Team Wilderness

This week has flown by. I didn't even realize that it has been over a week since the last update so I apologize. This week has been filled with work, school, packing, and chasing Adam. Sometime in this past week we managed to squeeze in our 4 year anniversary. We celebrated by Ryan going bowling and me playing volleyball. Who says romance is dead? Actually, Friday night we did get a chance to spend time together ordering take-out and watching a movie. We took Adam to the Whapeton Zoo on Saturday. He loves the zoo, especially the peacocks. Whenever he goes off on one of his stories, he always mentions the peacocks at least twice.

These pictures are is a little late, but they are from our Memorial Weekend camping trip up the shore. Go Team Wilderness (Consisting of Ryan, Erika, Joel, Meeks and Luther)! Erika who has never been camping in her adult life was very excited about the trip, and gave us this name. We had a great time! We took a good hike, saw some beautiful waterfalls, had fun around the camp fire, hit the alpine slides at Lutsen, and ate a lot of food!
