Night Time Routine

This is my night time routine!

First mommy or daddy picks me up from daycare and then we go home and play!

Then, it's supper time. Yummy sweet potatoes!

After supper, I get to splish splash in my bath!

Sometimes I try to get my whole fist in my mouth.

I try to grab mommy's face.

I sure am cute!

Next up is story time.

Mom, I'm not ready for bed yet. I still want to play!

Look mom no hands!

We had a very nice long weekend with family. Warren and Sonya came down for a visit so Ryan and I got to catch up on sleep while they caught up on their Adam time. Adam also got to show grandpa Warren his new tongue tricks.

On Friday night, we went to a retirement party for a guy I worked with. It was a nice time and kind of fun to see everyone out of their scrubs and letting loose a little.

On Monday I got to meet with the University of Mary grad advisor. I am currently working on my application to get my MBA with an emphasis in health care administration. It will be a lot of work, but I have a wonderful husband and family to help me out. After my meeting, Warren and Sonya took off for home and I got some good quality mommy and Adam time. We ate a little, slept a little and played a lot. Check out Adam sitting up on his own. He can still only do it for a short time, but he is getting so strong.

Yummy potatoes

Now that we are giving Adam more solid foods (and by solid I mean various mushy vegetables and rice cereal), we are trying our hand at making our own baby food. Ryan had already made carrots, potatoes and sweet potatoes. I have made nothing, but I do a fine job heating up the baby food and making the bottle. At least Adam says I do.

Adam was not as crazy about the potatoes as he was about the carrots, but he still managed to eat everything we gave him.

Hmm...first impression these sure don't taste very good.

Boy I sure look cute holding these things.

Maybe I should give them another try. Nope, they still taste pretty bad.

No daddy you can't have these back yet. I still haven't figured out what to do with them.

Diaper time!

Ryan can always get Adam to laugh and I never can. I am not going to lie it makes me a little jealous. However, Adam always has a big smile for me when he sees me.

Happy New Year!!

We had a very happy New Year in Duluth this year. We left Fargo on Friday night and came back last night. Adam travels so well, the car puts him right to sleep. It is a bit of a pain to travel because even though Adam is small, he needs a lot of stuff. Although, both our parents help with that and we love them for it.

On Saturday, we got to sleep in a little and then for my parent's 30th wedding anniversary we had professional family photos taken. Adam got a little fussy, but I think we managed to get some good shots. Saturday night we had a very nice family Christmas with my parents, brother, Granny, Papa, Uncle Dave and my Uncle Chuck and Aunt Sue who were visiting from Colorado.
Adam got a very special gift from his great Papa. It is a Mother Goose book that was given to him by his mother back in the Christmas of 1930! That book is over 77 years old.

My birthday was on Sunday. (Who knew! :) ) It was one of the best birthdays I can remember. First of all, I got to wake up to this cute face playing on his daddy's belly, and then it was off for a full day of shopping.

That night my mom (the best pie maker in the world) gave Erika and I a pie tutorial. She showed us how to make our own crust, and how to do a nice lattice on our pies.

On New Years Eve we visited family, and then Joel, Erika, Ryan and I went out. We stayed at the South Pier Inn in Duluth and had a very nice meal at the Top of the Harbor revolving restaurant. Mom and Dad watched Adam for us, so we had our first night of uninterrupted sleep in 4 1/2 months. Ryan and I still found ourselves waking up at Adam's normal midnight feeding times, but it was nice to just be able to go back to sleep.

New Years Day was another great day with friends and family. My parents had their annual chop suey (did I spell that right?) feed which lead, of course, to the a game of pass the baby. Adam was a very good baby. He had a smile for everyone. The day was short because we did have to leave for Fargo that night. Did I mention how much I dislike loading our car. Anyway, I do have some great video from the weekend, so that will be coming shortly. Good night!
