Another good weekend.

Adam got a vacation from Mom and Dad this weekend while we did some camping up the shore. He kept Grandma and Grandpa pretty busy. The went swinging at Granny and Papa's, visited the zoo, and went to a parade. I think he was too busy to even notice we were gone. Anyway, here are some pictures from Adam's weekend. I will post some pictures of our camping trip soon.

Flashback

We are heading out of town this Memorial Day weekend for some fun camping up the shores of Lake Superior. I am sitting here killing the last 15 minutes I have at work and trying to remember what we did last year for Memorial Day. I tried to look back at previous posts, but apparently whatever we did was not super exciting, and I never blogged about it. Anyway, as I was looking at past posts I remember that it was exactly a year ago that Adam started crawling and cut his first tooth. Now, he is a monster running everywhere with a mouth full of teeth (and a ear infection to go with every one). I don't have any new pictures for you, so I thought I would post some older, cute ones from a year ago. Enjoy the trip down memory lane.

Ears all clear!

Adam had tubes put in his ears this morning. This should hopefully resolve all the ear infections that he has been battling. He did great. He tolerated the anesthesia very well. The nurses told us he went down smiling and woke up smiling. Adam was also up to his usual tricks, flirting with all the nurses. The procedure took no time at all and Adam was back to his rambunctious self by lunch time.

Skipping back a couple days, Adam got to go to the Spring Eggstravegansia put on by the VA for employees and their families. This was suppose to take place around Easter time but because of flooding it was postponed. The Easter Bunny did still make an appearance. Adam was so excited about the bunny, he kept pointing at it saying "bunny, bunny, bunny!" He ran over to give the bunny a high five at least 4 times. Adam also made quite a hauling. He found a bunch of candy filled eggs, got a new stuffed animal, and he won the raffle and got a new bike! Not bad for a free event. He is still a little small for the bike, but by next summer he should be scooting around pretty good on it. Here are some pictures of his successful Saturday.

They made the eggs very easy to find for the little kids.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. We were able to head back to Minot this weekend so Adam could spend time with two very special mothers; his grandma Sonya and great-grandma Iona. We had a full weekend visiting with family, going to the zoo, and eating lots of really good food. We always leave Minot about 10 pounds heavier then we came. Sonya is a really good cook. Adam and I also got a chance to meet some new relatives from the Solberg side of the family. They had a small gathering this morning, and Adam charmed some of his great, great aunts, uncles and cousins. I hope you all have a good week as the temperature hopefully start to warm up.
We were very impressed with the Minot Zoo. It was a little cold, so not all the animals were out but we still had a great time.

A Wonderful Weekend!!!

Well, as the title says, we had a wonderful weekend. Thursday night Robin and I went out (with a few friends) to view the two houses we had narrowed our search down to. Robin made the correct call right away, but it took me a couple hours of reflection to come to the same conclusion. Saturday morning we made an offer on a 5BR rambler a few blocks from where we currently live. Robin went out to lunch with her friends and I went to a movie with the guys. We got to play some phone tag in the midst of all this because of their counter offer. We deemed that in their situation, this would be the best deal we'd get and accepted. If all goes as planned, we hope to close and move in at the end of June.

Glen and Cathy were also in town this weekend to babysit because we had plans to go to a concert (Billy Joel and Elton John) Saturday night. It was another phenomenal concert by two great artists who bring it all to the stage every performance. They started by doing a few songs together followed by solo sets by each artist. Then finished the show by both coming back on stage along with each of their comlete bands. Billy Joel seemed to me a little out of sync at the very beginning, but when he came out to do his solo set, he was ready to win the crowd who seemed to be more excited about EJ. We could tell that EJ's age has started catching up with him, as he no longer goes for the high notes in songs like Crocodile Rock, Bennie and the Jets, Daniel, etc. This doesn't mean his best is behind him by any means, as he still sings just as you'd expect to hear him on albums. BJ likes to ham it up a little more on stage and interact with the crowd. He even stepped away from the piano and played guitar for a couple songs including We Didn't Start the Fire. One of my favorite songs of the night, however, was the penultimate song where they performed Candle in the Wind where it was just the two of them with pianos. It was one of the only times of the night where they mixed in a little harmony together. And of course, they ended with Piano Man.

So with buying a house, enjoying a concert, and spending most of the weekend with family and friends topped off with beautiful weather finally, it's been a very wonderful weekend. And finally, here are some pictures of our new home (and believe it or not, no pictures of Adam this time).
