Christmas program

We have actually been a little busy over the past couple of days. Last night was Adam's Christmas program for school and tonight was our apartment complex's Christmas party. They were both pretty fun. I am not going to lie, I am getting very full with all the cookies I have been eating. Of course more pictures!

Go Pack Go!

We took advantage of our new location and made the trip to Kansas City on Sunday to watch the Green Bay Packers take on the Chiefs. We also got a chance to catch up with some good friends Mike and Rena from college during our quick visit. The weather was great, the food was good and if the Packers had won it would have been a pretty perfect day.

Our new home

Well, we have made our official move down to Omaha. We traded in our 5 bed 2 bath house and are settling into our new 3 bed 2 bath apartment. All in all the transition has gone more than smooth. I will give you all the updates, starting with...
Adam: He is our Omaha rock star. Little Grandma and Grandpa came down with us to help get him settled and to keep him busy while Ryan and I got the apartment set up. The transition would not have gone as easy without them. We really appreciated their help. He has already gone through his first week at his new preschool and absolutely loves it. On the first day, he looked at me and asked "so what do I do?" I told him to go in and make new friends. So he walked right in and up to the first teacher he could find and introduced himself. It has been smooth sailing ever since. It is actually hard to get him to want to leave at the end of the day.
Ryan: He took a job as a driver with U.S. Foods. The job started last Wednesday and has been going well so far. It was a huge blessing to find out that Ryan was going to have a job moving down here. It definitely lowered our stress level. He is very excited about our upcoming trip to Kansas City to watch his precious Packers take on the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. It was a little bit of an early Christmas present.
Robin: I started my new job on Monday. The first weeked was filled with orientation and tours of the new facility. My new coworkers are great and I do not think I will have any trouble getting settling in and started on my programs. It will be a challenge as the facility is over twice the size of Fargo's, but I am excited to see where this opportunity takes me. Socially, Ryan and I have been able to hang out a couble times with friends Mike and Jamie who we knew from college. They have been in the area for 6 years and have been a great reference for us in navigating the area.
I have lots of pictures from the move. These next few will give you a tour of our new place with some before and after shots, as well as some new ones of our little Cornhusker. ;)

Happy Halloween

We have been spending the past week getting things ready around the house and for Halloween. It started with a trip to the pumpkin patch with Adam.
We have been kicked out of our house a few times for house showings. No bites yet but we have had some good traffic. Ryan and Aaron getting cozy on the chair while discussing their fantasy football teams. I got the camera out just in time.
Watching football with the kids. Adam was holding his own in a sea of purple.
Rikki and I got into the spirit of Halloween for our 15k run last Saturday. 9.38 miles in 1 hour and 35 minutes. I was very proud of the run and a little sore.
Adam got a chance to run in the kids run before our race. He did a great job. He is showing off all his winnings. He was also a big cheerleader for Rikki and I during our race.
Go Adam Go!

So I bet you are wondering...

What we have been up to. A lot has been going on over the past couple of months. The biggest news is that I have have taken a new job in Omaha, NE. It is a definite step up for me and it will be a great opportunity. We are very excited for this new adventure. So now the house is on the market and we are downsizing for the move. My start date is December 5, and I have a feeling that date will be coming up faster than I realize.
We took advantage of the rest of the summer. We visited family in Grand Rapids, made a trip to Duluth, and spent time with friends in Fargo. Here are some pictures of the past couple months.

Happy Birthday Adam!

Happy 4th birthday to our favorite little boy. Actually, I am a little late in posting. Adam's birthday was on Sunday. I tried to post earlier but, believe it or not, I have so many pictures of Adam stored on our laptop, they sucked up all the memory and would not allow me to post. This has now been remedied and I have posted a whole bunch of pictures for you all to enjoy (some old, some new).
Hello world! Adam day 1.

For Adam's birthday weekend, we spent time with all the Grandparents as well as Uncle Dan and Aunt Liz in Minneapolis for some fun at the Mall of America and the Minnesota Zoo. We had a really great time, but we were pretty tired after the busy weekend.

Adam was really excited to see Dora and Diego, but not quite brave enough to stand next to them for a picture.
